Sarlahi Girl Kabita Nepali Wins Boogie Woogie


KATHMANDU, AUG 5: Eighteen-year-old Kabita Nepali won the dance reality show ‘Boogie Woogie’ on Saturday night. She was awarded with the prize money of Rs. 25 lakh.

Nepali defeated two other finalists to become the first ever winner of the AP1 TV’s reality show that started broadcast in March this year. Over three thousand hopefuls had auditioned online to be part of the show and only 150 participants among them were called to Kathmandu for the second round. Eighteen contestants were then chosen by the judges Priyanka Karki, Dilip Rayamajhi and Kabiraj Gahatraj to compete in further rounds.

Pragati Pun bagged the first-runner up title, winning a cash prize of Rs. 6 lakh. Saroj Moktan, on the other hand, won Rs. 4 lakh as he was announced the third runner-up.

Boogie Woogie is an international franchise television show originally created by Naved Jaffrey and Ravi Behl in India. The show had first debuted in 1996 on Sony Entertainment Television. Aleen Shrestha, who is also directing the second season of Nepal Idol, directed the first season of the show in Nepal.
