Love him or hate him, you can’t deny the fact that VTEN is one of the biggest young rap stars in Nepal at the moment. He drops a song, it instantly becomes a hit online — all of his songs have garnered at least over a million views on YouTube — a feat very few Nepali rap songs have achieved so far.
In 2017, he released the music video for ‘Baini’ – a song that talked about how the protagonist’s sister gets trapped in a house fire and other struggles that his family has to go through. After a little over a year, the ‘Haalkhabar’ rapper has put out a new song called ‘Kathaa’. With some scenes taken form ‘Baini’ video to be used as flashback moments, the new video clearly is a sequel. Both the videos are directed by Uman Waiba with Om K Rai playing the father’s role.
Written and performed by VTEN himeself, ‘Kathaa’ also features Dharmendra Sewan on vocals. The beat is produced by Hype. The music video; that also stars Dharma Bajra Lama, Krisham Rumba and Suman Basnet along with the two artists themselves; is shot by Sona Hang Rai and Suraj Darlami Magar.
