It’s always so good to see our homegrown artists do well internationally. This year, in particular, has been going pretty well. So many of our girls are killin’ it — Lhakyila’s new Amazon Prime original series ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’ came out this month in March; while another one of our talented girls, Suchana Bohara (stage name – Hara), left for South Korea last month where she is training to be a K-Pop Idol under GBK Entertainment’s new girl group ‘MEP-C’. And now, singer-songwriter Prajina is featured in one of the songs in Badshah’s new album ‘Ek Tha Raja’ that also features some big names like Arijit Singh, Divine, Nikhita Gandhi, Aastha Gill, Raftaar, Seedhe Maut, Dino James, Nora Fatehi and MC STAN, among others.

The 16-track album is Badshah’s third one after ‘One’ (2018) and ‘The Power of Dreams of a Kid’ (2020). The album’s announcement video, that was dropped earlier this month with Shah Rukh Khan’s narration, had taken me with a surprise when I saw Prajina’s name on the feature list. The ‘Hami’ singer-songwriter features alongside another popular Indian rapper KR$NA on the track titled ‘Hola At Your Boy’.

Prajina’s got a hook that is a mixture of Nepali, Hindi and English lyrics; needless to say, she sounds really good. I hope they make a music video for this song, starring all three artistes.
