Yodda vs Bullet Flo is a One-Sided Clash

Nepali Hiphop scene is never boring, there’s always something goin’ on and I like that. I totally think that beefs make things exciting and as long as it’s limited to the war of words and don’t escalate to anything physical irl, it’s all good, man.

There’s a new beef that honestly, I didn’t see coming at all. Currently, Yodda and Bullet Flo are at it. Quite surprising, eh? Let’s see what’s goin’ on around here.

So back in 2023 (damn, 2023 was two years ago?? the fuck!); okay, back to the subject; Bullet Flo had appeared in a podcast where the host asked him who he would choose between Yodda and Kavi G. You do remember about their beef, right? Take a quick refresher here. Answering the question, Bullet Flo didn’t hesitate to reveal that he hasn’t listened to Yodda, so he would pick Kavi G. I know, I know, there could be multiple reactions to that. You might say, “No big deal, ain’t nobody can tell others who they should be listening to”. You might also say, “You gotta be in touch with who’s making waves in the scene and surely, Yodda’s one of the finest rappers out there.” Whatever side you are at, that’s cool.

Yodda had never addressed or talked about it but who knew, Bullet Flo’s words were still kinda going through his mind and we found out about that when he dropped his new song called ‘Suruwat’ last week. Yodda took two names in the song, one was 5:55 — but it was more like a shout out to his song ‘Samadhi’, and the other one was, Bullet Flo — who was more like at the receiving end. “Tero geet le aankha tancha, mero geet le kholdincha netra“, I thought this was just a dig at all the rappers in general who have steamy music videos but it was only in the end, we all found out who this song was targeted at. “Nepali hiphop jagatma Yodda ho pramukh, Bullet Flo le shots hanyo tara Yodda bullet proof.

A couple of days later, Bullet Flo posted a video on TikTok that had him listening to the song and then addressed it. He said he didn’t even realize that what he said had become such a big issue. He cleared that he didn’t have anything against Yodda, he simply hadn’t checked out his stuff which is okay as people can listen to and watch whatever content they want to consume. Then he said that while he is unapologetic about whatever he said, he will be the bigger man and forgive Yodda for all this. He further said that there’s enough violence, hatred and toxicity in the scene already and all he wants is a peaceful environment. Okay, wise words there.

I actually thought that Bullet Flo was done there and the beef won’t go any further but nope, I was wrong. Now here’s the thing, he can rap fast and I also dig some of the songs that he did with with former group, GXSOUL but to be honest, he is not among the best rappers out there right now. I mean, lyrically – he is not there. He can make good party songs but, you know, that’s about it.

He put out a song called ‘Antya’ two days later, on Thursday and second mistake he made (first one being actually releasing the song), that he named it ‘Antya (Reply to YODDA)’. Established artists don’t have to do that, man. That’s like trying to cash on the name of your opponent; but anyway, that seemed to work as the song got over 100k views in a day — which is like the fastest any of his songs have done in 24 hours (released on his channel).

Bullet Flo started with naming some of Yodda’s popular songs, “Ay sunn ay paangture gokte (gopley), kharaab baani terai xa badhi bolne, saino hajur vani sambodhan garr be“; then he proceeds to say, “Khushi vaiss? Finally maile tero geet sundiye.

He continues with the jabs, “Pichkaari maile haaneko talai kina shot laagyo, geet ma sundina tero vanda paxillo tallo ma pilo pakyo, maatra ta hoina tero fan harulai common sense ko khaacho“. He further calls him out saying that he stole Gunna’s flow, “Gunna flow chorera dherai na bhuk, tero prime ma ta kina murkha.”

At last, he claps back at Yodda’s bullet proof line, “Nishana mero hunexa achuk, tero mukh bhitra hunexa bandook, trigger dabey pachhi heraula tero roop, ha ha ha ha, bullet proof? Ratna Park ko bullet proof jacket.”

Hmm, my thoughts? It was okayish, pretty average. And Bullet Flo might not have realized while coming up with all that bandook and trigger lines that Yodda serves in the British army — guns, firearms, missiles are all part of his real life and are not just limited to words. So I very well knew what was gonna come, and that happened.

Within 24 hours, Yodda dropped another track and he didn’t have to name it ‘Reply to Bullet Flo’ or ‘Bullet Flo Diss Song’ or anything like that. Shit, he didn’t even name it something that one can pronounce. He simply titled the track ‘salalabalalahalalafararaadgaoehadfadga’. Yep, no kidding.

Mero ta jaagir nai goli barood, ja na ta liyera aaija bandook“. Like I said, I knew what was coming. In 2017, Yodda had dropped an EP titled ‘Nakab’ and it had one of his most popular songs called ‘Kharab Baani’. “Jo paila aayo tehi thulo hoina, yo khelma huncha sabai ekai naas“, he had spit, letting everyone know that he doesn’t care who has been in the scene the longest, everyone’s equal here. He kinda reminded Bullet Flo the same.

Umer ma dai nai vayeni, rap ma easily ta mero bhai hos“, he keeps throwing punches at Bullet Flo. “Ta mula sabai laai ullu banauna khojdai thees fast boli, tara haami hiphop agadi banauna khattinchau raat bhari“, “Ta mula tattida kapada ma iron, ani ma tattida damkal ma siron“, “Yodda chahal pahal vako aafnai hook le garda ho, tero chahal pahal bhaako aru haruko hook le garda ho“, he keeps on going.

Yodda finishes off saying, “Yo geet le raat bhari satai rahe tyo timile garda ho“, combining the titles of two of GXSOUL’s popular songs ‘Satayera’ and ‘Yo Timile Garda Ho’ that they did with James Shrestha. Also, even ‘Suruwat’ is a title of Bullet Flo’s 2016 song.

It’s quite clear what I think of this entire feud, Bullet Flo hasn’t got what it takes to take Yodda down, it’s clearly a one-sided battle for Yodda and I think, he has already won it, unless Bullet Flo comes back with a really strong track — a straight up fire is what he needs, otherwise the battle’s over already.

What do you think?
