Raju Lama Wins 4-Chair Turn Contestant in First Episode of The Voice S2

The Voice of Nepal returned for a second season tonight (Friday). The singing reality television show introduced two new coaches in the first episode that aired earlier tonight on Himalaya Television.

Mongolian Heart frontman Raju Lama and ‘Chaubandima Patuki’ hitmaker Astha Raut have joined the coaching lineup of the show, along with the old-timers Deep Shrestha and Pramod Kharel. Hosted by Sushil Nepal, the blind auditions witnessed some wonderful performances, as expected. One of these performances came from Sanish Shrestha.

The Kathmandu guy who has released some cover songs including XXXTENTACION’s ‘SAD!’ and Calcum Scott’s ‘Dancing on My Own’ under the label of ClassX Presentation so far surprisingly sang a beautiful soft Nepali number called ‘Lai Lai’ from Bipin Karki and Namrataa Shrestha starrer ‘Prasad’. And guess what, he did an absolute justice to the song originally sung by Ketan Chettri which earned him the first ever four-chair turn of the season.

And then it was Sanish’ turn to take the tough decision — choose the coach with whom he will take the journey ahead in the show and it was none other than Raju Lama.

The entire episode is now streaming online. Watch it here.

In the last season; one of the ClassX Presentation artists, Bibek Waiba Lama, had made it to the semi finals. Can Sanish Shrestha create a new history for the label? We’ll see.

Good luck, lad.
