2 days after the release of Group 3’s Head to Head Challenge round video, the introduction video of Miss World Nepal Nikita Chandak has been posted on the Miss World’s official YouTube channel.
Earlier this week on Friday, the six contestants of the Group 3 – Nepal, Chile, Madagascar, Guinea, Cameroon and Belgium – were seen taking on the Head to Head Challenge. The winner from the group will win a spot in the Top 40. [Know more about it here.]
The 3-minute introduction video has the 20-year-old Nepalese delegate give the viewers a peek into her life while introducing the world to the beautiful country she calls home.
“Birthplace of the light of Asia, an apostle of peace – Lord Buddha; home of the Living Goddess and the Amazon of Asia. A country where eight out of fourteen highest peaks lie. Home to seven UNESCO designated world heritage sites. A country whose unique non-rectangular flag is hoisted by smiling and welcoming 30 million people coming from diverse thoughts and cultures. Namaste, world; this is Nepal and I am Miss World Nepal 2017 Nikita Chandak Maheshwari”.
Nikita then talks about her childhood and upbringing “in a small town of Eastern Nepal” (Urlabari). “Highly influenced by movies, I used to think life was a movie and I was the lead actor with invisible cameras and audience”, she shares about her love for acting and her “love for performing arts”.
“The passion of being in the spotlight drove me to being a ramp model. Facing some struggles initially, I received recognition at one of the biggest modelling shows in Nepal which took me to yet another level of participating and eventually winning the most coveted crown of Miss World Nepal.”

In less than ten hours of the its release, the video has garnered more views than most of the other delegates’ introduction videosĀ that were uploaded weeks ago. The organization had started uploading the introduction videos on October 11. The video of Philippine bet Laura Lehmann, uploaded on October 24, is currently the most viewed introduction video with over 289,000 views. As of now (6:30 PM Nepal time, Nov 5), Nikita Chandak’s video has garnered over 40,000 views.
While the views on YouTube videos do not make any difference in the result of the Head to Head challenge round, it does indicate how popular a delegate is online.
