Cold Weather Has Started Killing People, Here’s How You Can Do Your Bit To Save Lives

2015 has been one of the darkest years for Nepal – from the devastating earthquake to massive landslides and the economic blockade that’s on its third month now; nothing seems to be on the favor of the Nepalese this year. And now to add to the misery, the freezing cold weather has started killing people and the most vulnerables are the earthquake victims who have been still living under temporary shelters. As per a recent report by Kantipur, seven earthquake victims have already lost their lives in Thokarpa, Sindhupalchok in last two weeks because of cold. Expecting our government to do something for the needy people is sheer foolishness; and we can’t just see people dying. So it’s upto us to do our bit and help the people who are in dire need. Listed below are some ways you can help them.

1. Sasto Deal – Donate A Blanket

Association of Youth Organizations Nepal (AYON), who have been very actively organizing various relief campaigns right after the quake, have now started a new campaign with the focus to provide materials for the winter to the earthquake victims. If you wish to help in any form or if you know any families or communities who are in need of support, you can call AYON at 01-5011122 during office hours or leave them a message on Facebook HERE.

Like Ronald Reagan said, “We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone“; your small help might save a life. Please donate.

Comment below if you know some other ways to help the needy people and we shall update the list.
