On Sunday, 8th March, 2015 the world will celebrate International Women’s Day. Various activities and events will be held in Nepal as well on the occasion that brings issues related to womanhood in the limelight. Women in Concert – a musical event featuring some established and some aspiring female musicians, has been taking place since few years every year to spread the awareness about violence against women. The event this year will be hosted by Malvika Subba and will feature female singers/bands lead by female singers from Kathmandu, Pokhara, Butwal, Kalimpong and Gangtok. Abhaya & The Steam Injuns, Kramasha Nepal, Stigmata, Deeksha & Artha, Lumbini Blues, Ritu & The Pirates, Leezum, Lhamu and Rebecca will be rocking the audience in the free event supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in Nepal; that will take place at Basantpur, Kathmandu from 2 PM onwards.
