The hall of Sinhan University in Mangwalsa was filled with Nepalese people from all acorss Korea. The audience that contained of mostly people in their 20s and 30s were there to witness The Edge Band performing live for the very first time in Korea.

Even though the event was scheduled to start at 1; it started at 3:30 and the organizers had to announce and clarify that everything was set and ready but the audience were late. Oh! Okay. They also announced and requested not to drink liquor or smoke inside the hall when they were actually selling beer cans along with snacks inside the very hall. So, I didn’t get this logic at all. Other than these two, everything else was good and well organized.

The event was kicked off by the Nepali artists living in Korea. The rock bands Astitwa, Bikalpa and N-PRIK Brothers’ Band were good and got the music loves dancing and moving. Dawa Lama’s solo performance and rap crew Rhyme Writers along with Sriyash Thapa were impressive. There were solo dance performances as well by Roshna, Binu and Salini and they were okay. The event was hosted by DJ C-Man who was playing some dancing numbers during the breaks and while the artists were tuning their instruments, which was a smart idea as it didn’t let the audience get bored.

It was around 6, when the men of the hour finally showed up on stage. The Edge Band kicked off their performance with ‘Kasari’ and everyone joined them and started singing. A different joy and passion could be seen in the crowd. After the song was over; Jeewan Gurung, the vocalist, greeted and introduced themselves – the band of five, to the crowd. ‘Jhuto Maya’ was the next song they played followed by ‘Lekhiyeka Shabda’, ‘Samjhine Mutu’, ‘Prayas’, ‘Yo Dil Mero’, ‘Na Chaheko’ and various of their superhit numbers. The band played continously for two hours but not at any moment did they seem tired. Their energy level was amazing throughout their time on the stage and they connected very well with the audience. No wonder these five guys make one of the best Nepali bands.

The event was totally worth the money paid for the ticket, even though there were stuffs which could have been better. But there were some very good performances which kept everyone in the house moving and grooving. Three and a half stars out of five from me for the event.
