Almost all of Neetesh Jung Kunwar’s songs are so relatable that they make you feel like they are written about you and your feelings.
In March of 2017, Neetesh released a song called ‘Gedai Jasto Zindagi‘.
“Dherai jasto sathi Australia,
Koi China, koi Japan, koi Malaysia,
Dai bhane mero Amsterdam ma,
Ani dai ko budi bhane Tottenham ma,
Sarai gaaro chha bhanchan sabai jana,
Hera koi ni farkya hoina,
Maa kasam dhatya hoina tar,
Aafu bhane aile samma India ni gaako chhaina,
Gedai jasto zindagi”
The song talked about the feelings when you see all of your friends, classmates, relatives, neighbors — in short, everyone — going abroad and making a lot of money while you aren’t doing much with your life.
He has now released a new single titled ‘Hamro Nepal Ma’ and it’s like the sequel to ‘Gedai Jasto Zindagi’. The protagonist who was earlier wishing he could go abroad is now living away from home and finally realizing what it’s actually like to be living away from your loved ones.
“Ghar aangana ani saathi bhai,
Darshan Namaste hai sabailai,
Sukha-dukha bhannu yestai raicha,
Ko aafno bideshma ko paraai,
Thula sahar yaha beglai sochai,
Aai puge ma pani kehi garna lai,
Sabailai samjhana mann bata nai,
Aasha chha maya yo na maros hai,
Mero tana aile yaha bhayeni,
Mann bhane sannani utai chha…. Hamro Nepal Ma”
Yep, that’s what happens when reality hits you!
Wonderfully written and composed, the song features Chetan Raj Karki on lead guitar and Manice Gandharva on sarangi. Amazing work. Listen to it here.
