Subexya Bhadel Showcases Her Fall Collection At FOG In California, Bags Best Designer Award

One of the most renowned Nepali fashion designers, Subexya Bhadel, showcased her Fall 2016 collection at an international event titled Festival of Globe (FOG) held at Silicon Valley, California on August 12th. Actress Nisha Adhikari opened her show wearing a red off shoulder lace gown, followed by American actress and model Tatiana Dekhtyar. America’s Next Top Model Kiara Balen closed the show with long trail, puffed tube gown.

Talking about her collection, “My collection was about modern day women who are strong, confident, bold and beautiful working women. It was about the women who are independent and love to travel. This collection was ready to wear in different shades of red including different silhouette like power suit, dresses, gowns and skirts“, Bhadel told NeoStuffs.

The collection was entirely finished in Kathmandu at her boutique ‘Crossroad Apparel’ in coordination with her sister and business partner, Ashrita Bhadel. It took them three weeks to complete the whole collection. Subexya Bhadel bagged the Best Designer award at the event that also witnessed the presence of Bollywood actors Randeep Hooda, Gulshan Grover and Raima Sen. Nisha Adhikari received the award for Cinematic Excellence and Everest Conquest; and Aaryan Adhikari won the award for Best Actor for his role in ‘Ke Ma Timro Hoina Ra’.

The proceeds from the event that also had live music, exhibitions and art auction will go to organizations fighting against human trafficking.
