Anjali Lama Wins Model of the Year at Grazia Millennial Awards 2019

Anjali Lama has added yet another feather in her cap as she bagged the Model of the Year award in Mumbai last night.

The Nepali model won the title on Wednesday night during the first edition of Grazia Millennial Awards 2019.

The 34-year-old model took to Instagram to share her happiness after receiving the award. “I am extremely happy and overwhelmed with this honour. Never in my wildest dream I thought of such award when I came to Mumbai. Thanks everyone for your support and warm wishes”, she wrote on Thursday morning.

The star-studded event was attended by a number of Bollywood celebs including Deepika Padukone, Karan Johar, Janhvi Kapoor, Radhika Apte and Vicky Kaushal, among others.

While Padukone was announced the Millennial of the Year, Kapoor went home with the Rising Star of the Year award. In the same event, Vicky Kaushal was awarded with Performer of the Year title and ‘Gully Boy’ actor Siddhant Chaturvedi became the Breakthrough Performer of the Year (Male).

Radhika Apte, who won the Digital Disruptor of the Year award, was among the other winners alongside ‘Student of the Year 2’ actress Ananya Pandey (NextGen Star of the Year), Karan Johar (Honorary Millennial of the Year) and Masaba Gupta (Fashion Entrepreneur of the Year).

Ever since Lama made her Lakme Fashion Week debut in 2017, becoming the first ever transgender model to walk at the prestigious fashion event, she has become unstoppable. In last couple of years, she has appeared in a number of advertising campaigns for international brands like Levi’s and Calvin Klein, and has been making headlines internationally.

Earlier this year, Grazia India had featured her in the March issue of the magazine. Photographer Keegan Crasto had captured her wearing the pieces of the designers Christian Louboutin, Aldo, Steve Madden, Jodi, Saaksha & Kinnin, among others.

So proud of you, Anjali!
