When “Lollipop” Turned Sour: Lil Jhola vs Nawaj Ansari Beef Explained

We’ve had serious bars and serious beefs in Nepali hip-hop before. But this latest one between Lil Jhola and Nawaj Ansari? It’s unserious in all the right (and wrong) ways—and the whole scene can’t stop watching.

In the past few weeks, the Nepali rap scene has witnessed a spicy drama featuring three notable names: Lil Jhola, Nawaj Ansari, and Jamesy. Each brings a unique style to the table, and when their names appeared in the same sentence, fans expected fireworks. They weren’t wrong—but probably not in the way they imagined.

It all started with a teaser. About three weeks ago, Lil Jhola dropped a snippet of an upcoming track titled Lollipop, teasing features from both Jamesy and Nawaj Ansari. Fans were hyped and of course, confused. Because… a Jamesy and Nawaj Ansari collab? For real??

Except… turned out they didn’t even know they were invited to the party.

So yeah, Nawaj was like: “Wait, I’m on this track?!”

Nawaj Ansari didn’t take long to post a video expressing shock and disappointment. He claimed he had no clue Jamesy was also featured on the song—and given their long-standing beef, it came off like a collab he never signed up for, let alone one he was ready to be part of. And Jhola? He didn’t even give him a heads-up.

Lil Jhola: “Fine, I’ll go solo.”

Following the backlash, Jhola deleted the teaser and later released Lollipop with neither Nawaj nor Jamesy in it. A bold move—or maybe just damage control?

But wait, the tea is still steeping.

Enter: Nawraj

This week, Lil Jhola dropped a brand new track called Nawraj—clearly a diss track aimed at Nawaj Ansari. And let’s just say… it’s not exactly rap gold.

Lyrically, Nawraj leans heavily on juvenile jabs about Nawaj’s height and skin tone. Not clever, not classy— but somehow catchy as hell. I won’t lie, it’s a fun listen if you don’t take it too seriously. It’s the kind of diss that stirs the pot without necessarily raising the bar.

Nearly a Million Views and a Whole Lotta Backlash

Despite the backlash, Nawraj is pulling in views like nobody’s business—nearly a million in just five days. The heat comes not just from the track itself, but from the fact that Nawaj, who’s earned a solid reputation and loyal fanbase in the scene, got roped into a surprise collab with someone he’s been beefing with. The majority of YouTube comments are firmly in Nawaj’s corner, calling out Jhola for the stunt—but a few are still vibing with the track regardless.

Meanwhile, Nawaj, known for his thoughtful lyrics, hasn’t made any statement or dropped a reply—yet. But he doesn’t seem entirely unaware either. Fans are now watching closely to see if he’ll step in or just let things play out.

So What Now?

Whether you call it bold or reckless, Lil Jhola knows how to stay in the spotlight. He’s either a marketing genius—or someone who’s learned how to ride chaos like it’s currency.

Oh, almost forgot to address something—and it’s a big one. I’ve never been a fan of Nepali, or really any non-Black rappers, using the N-word. One part that hits especially wrong in this track? Jhola’s casual use of it. It’s not the first time a Nepali rapper has dropped it—and that’s exactly the problem. It’s cringeworthy, tone-deaf, and downright unacceptable.

As for Nawaj, whether he’ll respond with a diss track of his own remains uncertain—and maybe even unlikely. He’s currently on his Samrajya World Tour 2025, having already rocked stages in Nepal and Dubai. Next up is Australia from July 28, followed by Japan in August, and then a Europe run through September and October. With that kind of packed schedule, carving out time to fire back might not be his priority—at least for now.

Then again, you never know. Hip-hop beef has a way of showing up when you least expect it.

Grab your headphones and popcorn. This saga might just be getting started.
