After traveling all across the world, getting screened at various major mountain films festivals, ‘Mothered By Nature’ can now be streamed for free online.
The 2017 short film is a work of Yeti, a cooler company that produces dope films as well, along with Camp4Collective. Directed by Renan Ozturk and Ben Ayers, the film documents the journey of Pasang Lhamu Sherpa Akita; Nepal’s first mountaineering instructor who was awarded the National Geographic Adventurer of the Year 2016 title for her outstanding mountaineering history and the humanitarian works she did post the 2015 earthquake; and Sareena Rai, a punk rocker from Kathmandu as they attempt a first ascent together.
“So this was supposed to be a film about, like, empowering women, about bringing two of my friends on this badass adventure. But it all kinda went horribly wrong”, says Ayers. When the adventure doesn’t go as planned, the two women do this thing their own way and start bonding and discussing about motherhood, family and you know, being a woman.

While, in the film, Pasang seems worried about being a mother; she is actually nailing it now as she a mother to this cute little falla named Eikichi.
‘Mothered by Mountains’ is one of the eight films released online by Yeti last week. You can watch them all on their website.
