Watch: Nepali B-girls Turn Ninjas, Dance to Nick Minaj’s ‘Chun-Li’

Nicki Minaj’s latest single ‘Chun-Li’ has turned out to be a massive commercial success. The 35-year-old rapper is now on par with Beyoncé in a tie for the most top 10 hits by women in the mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop charts. The song has been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and is currently on its way to platinum certification.

The track, which has proved to be her biggest in the recent years, is currently at number 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song is part of her upcoming album ‘Queen’, due to be out in August this year.

Like any other popular song, ‘Chun Li’ has got dozens of covers and dance covers that have been released online. One of those comes from Nepal.

Tandav Dance Academy has recently put out a dance cover. Choreographed by Nisha Hamal, the video has Mansa Ghothane, Aashma Magar, Nisha Hamal, Karuna Rai, Pratichhya Gurung and Suji Gurung dancing to the Trinidadian-born rapper’s track.

Unlike most of the dance covers by Nepali crews, the video doesn’t have a boy meeting a girl, and trying to impress her using the stupid and extremely ‘filmy’ tricks and moves. This one is pretty good, with something new and different to offer.

Kudos to Monash and Astro Prj as well, who have done wonderful jobs at shooting and editing the video, respectively.

Watch it here.
