Khagendra Lamichhane is “making Dandi Biyo great again” in his new film.
Remember Dandi Biyo? The unofficial national game of Nepal until last year when volleyball officially took the spot. Just like you did, a lot of people have forgotten about the game; and that’s why, our very own ‘Pashupati Prasad’ is here with some kickass posters for his upcoming film ‘Damaruko Dandibiyo’, with which he is trying to save the game from getting extinct, well kinda.
So yeah, two posters for the film produced by Sumi Shrestha Ghale and Binod Gurung, under the banner of Sambridhi Entertainment, have been released. The film, along with Khagendra Lamichhane, also stars Menuka Pradhan, Buddhi Tamang, Anup Baral, and Ankit Khadka, among others.
The two posters, designed by Anand Maharjan, have a determined Khagendra Lamichhane with his Dandi Biyo kit, all set to show the world what he has got.
“We have all played Dandi Biyo during our childhood. It used to be considered the national game of the country for a long time, though it’s not anymore. The film tells the story of the struggles of a character who is determined to bring the game back to its existence”, Lamichhane, who has also written the film, said about the film in an interview.
The film will mark the directorial debut of Chhetan Gurung, who has earlier written films like ‘November Rain’ and ‘Classic’.
