Just few more hours and we will have our 66th Miss Universe!!
Nepal is making its debut in the Miss Universe pageant this year; and its representative is none other than Nagma Shrestha – the most experienced and the tallest Nepali beauty queen.
Shrestha, who played an important role in bringing the pageant franchise to Nepal, is living her dream right now – representing her country in Miss Universe. “After a 5-year long journey, the day my dream comes true is here!!! Looking back I feel all the challenges I faced were worth it. These past two weeks at Miss Universe has been undoubtedly the best days of my life. I had always dreamt of seeing our nation’s name in Miss Universe, and I feel so privileged in having made this a reality”, the 26-year-old, who stands 5’11”, wrote on a Facebook post earlier today.
Nagma had become the first ever Nepali to place in a major international pageant when she made it to the Top 8 in Miss Earth 2012. In 2016, she was 3rd runner-up in World Miss University in China. Later that year, she won a special award at Miss Eco Universe in Egypt.
A television producer and presenter by profession, she has been actively involved in various social works as well. She is the goodwill ambassador of Childreach Nepal and Ujyalo Foundation.
Nagma will be competing with 91 other contenders for the coveted title. The coronation night will be taking place at The Axis at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday, November 26 at 7 PM (ET) — Monday morning at 5:45 AM in Nepal.
