For the newly introduced ‘Head to Head Challenge’ round in the Miss World pageant, a live draw was held at the Oasis O City Hotel in Shenzhen earlier this week to divide all the delegates in 20 different groups. The 5 or 6 girls in each group will go head to head for a spot in the top 40.
Nepal’s Nikita Chandak is in Group 3 along with Belgium, Cameroon, Guinea, Madagascar and Chile. The video of the Head to Head Challenge round of Group 3 has recently been released on YouTube.
For this round of competition, each of the contestant’s introduction video is shown and they are then asked a question about their video by the host Frankie Cena. All the contestants answer a final question before the end of the segment. Voting is then opened to the public.
Here’s the video. Nikita’s introduction video starts at 5:05.
“Namaste, world. This is Nepal and I am Miss World Nepal 2017 Nikita Chandak Maheshwari”, she introduces herself in her introduction video. “Growing up in a joint family in a small town of Eastern Nepal, I always thought I was very special. The passion of being in the spotlight drove me to being a ramp model. Facing some struggles initially, I received recognition at one of the biggest modelling shows in Nepal which took me to yet another level of participating and eventually winning the most coveted crown of Miss World Nepal”, she continues.
“I am extremely grateful for having got such a prestigious and beautiful platform of Miss World where humanity is the core of entire celebration.”
“Nepal, your video was so beautiful. Tell us about one of the sites we saw in your video”, an astonished Cena reacts and asks Nikita the question after the end of the introduction video. “The place where I got my video shoot done is one of the ten world heritage sites that my country Nepal has – Swayambhnath Temple. It is also known as the Monkey Temple”, she answers. “It is some 2000 years old and one of the most sacred, religious and pilgrimage sites for Buddhists. It is situated atop a hill and from where the view of entire valley of Kathmandu is visible. Thank you.” Cena then replies, “Great. Hopefully we can all take a visit.”
After the screening of all the six contestants’ introduction videos and after they answer the first question; the final question is asked by the host, “Are we destroying our planet or is it a media myth?”
After Chile, Madagascar and Guinea answer, it’s Nikita’s turn and she answers, “Just the way every coin has two sides, everything has advantages and disadvantages. We all human beings, we are being benefited by all the development and everything has become so easy for the mankind with the growth of technologies. But of course there is destruction of the nature, extinction of animals, deforestation. We do not even get fresh air to breathe everytime. So yes, the planet is being destructed and the result is very much visible with the frequent natural disasters happening. Thank you.”
Throughout the segment, Nikita looked calm and confident. Her answers to both the questions were impressive and she elegantly presented herself.
She did her part beautifully, and it’s now your turn to vote for her and help her get a spot in the Top 40. There are only three official platforms to vote for your favorite contestant. Visit Miss World’s official website www.missworld.com and click ‘Vote For Me’ on the contestant’s page. Like her official Miss World Contestant Facebook page . And, install MobStar app and follow and vote for her on her official contestant account. Voting on any other platform other than these three is useless and the mean nothing.
Nikita Chandak had bagged the title of Miss World Nepal in the Miss Nepal beauty pageant in Kathmandu this year in June. The 20-year-old stands 5’6″.
