Fuzz Factory Productions first introduced us to Fuzzscape in 2015. The YouTube show they define as, “Fuzzscape is an endeavor to explore the culture of different places of Nepal. The idea is to interact with the local community and artists and collaborate with them to produce a song which is an outcome of their experiences working together in the given space”, has three episodes so far.
For the first episode, the team had traveled to Banepa where they met the locals and musicians; recorded some natural sounds; and came up with ‘Kapase Badal’, that was released in March 2015. It took the team more than a year to come up with the second episode, for which they traveled to Shermathang, a small village in Helambu; and brought to us ‘Hyolmo’.
We were afraid we’ll have to wait until 2018 for another awesome episode but luckily, these bunch of genius people had mercy on us and came up with the third episode pretty soon. For this one, the team traveled to Birgunj — a city they call “the city of sweet jeri and even sweeter paan”.
Fuzzscape team met a lot of locals, folk artists, musicians to come up with ‘Jhijhiya’. Rajan Shrestha has produced the music for the song that has vocal samples of Hira Hajara, Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary, Jenisha Khadka and Rajnish Kumar Shah. Cinematographer Prasiit Sthapit is assisted by Manish Poudel to film the video that is edited by Rajan and Prasiit.
Without further ado, here’s the creative work. Enjoy!
