Nepal has been sending its delegates to all over the world to participate in various international beauty pageants since decades but it has never hosted one so far. That status is soon going to be changed as Nepal is all set to host its very first international pageant in March this year.
Miss Intercontinental Universe is an international beauty pageant organized by Mayur Himalaya Pvt. Ltd. based in Kathmandu, founded by Nitin Shahi and Senthil Nathan with its slogan ‘Work for cause, not for applause’. It solely advocates on children welfare, education and their upbringing with a foundation called Child’s Dream (Dream Come True). The pageant is a fund raising event and the proceeds will be used to support the advocacies of the organization.
The first edition of Miss Intercontinental Universe is scheduled from February 28th to March 10th and the delegates from over twenty countries are expected by the organizers. A natural born unmarried female of ages between 18 to 28 with no criminal history and no involvement in obscene or x-rated exhibitions, prints and films would be an ideal candidate for the pageant.
The event will kick off with the arrival of all the delegates on February 28th, followed by exclusive photo shoots, advocacy workshop, special city trips and some charity works among others. The candidates will not only be touring to various parts of Kathmandu valley but are also scheduled to perform quite a lot of activities in and around Pokhara and Chitwan. There will be a number of competitions that the candidates would have to be a part of – various interviews, national costume competition, swimsuit competition and evening gown competition. Fifteen candidates will be selected from the preliminary rounds who would be competing for the major title of Miss Intercontinental Universe 2017 at the finale on March 10th at Hotel Soaltee Crowne Plaza. Apart from the main title, there will be a number of sub-titles such as Miss Photogenic, Miss Friendship, Best In National Costume, Best In Beach Wear, Best In Evening Gown, Miss Congeniality and Best In Swim Wear.
According to CEO Samikshya Shrestha, the Nepali delegate for the event is yet to be decided. “We’re looking for a candidate who would be able to represent the country well”, she told NeoStuffs.
Well, we hope the event becomes so successful that it opens new doors for more prestigious international pageants in Nepal.
