This Rendition Of Phatteman’s ‘Raktim’ By Stairs Of Cirith Is Absolutely Magical!

Phatteman Rajbhandari was one of the most iconic musicians Nepal ever produced. The ‘Yesto Pani Hudo Raicha’ singer was a pioneer in Nepali classical music who sang and composed over 400 songs before his demise in 2013.

Apart from singing and composing songs, Phatteman also used to teach music. One of his students, Yuskey KC, now has a band of his own – Stairs of Cirith. The band that also has Nikhil Sikarmi and Suman Ghising on guitars and Paras Mani Subedi on Tabla; has come up with their rendition of ‘Raktim’. Written by Achyut Prasad Kharel and composed by Phatteman, the latter used to perform the song at various events but never recorded it in a studio. It was thirteen years ago when Yuskey learned the song from him and now his band has a perfect tribute for his mentor.

This is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful songs to have come out this year. Amazing music with superb vocals, this one by Stairs of Cirith will have you hooked on this song for a very long time. Listen to it here and let us know what you think of it. Also, connect with the band on Facebook.

And of course, a big thank you to Yomari Sessions who have been introducing us to such magnificent talents for collaborating with this band. Check out their more works HERE.

Now, here you are. Enjoy!

Just in case you were wondering, ‘Raktim’ means red color.
