Nepal’s flag is the only national flag in the world that is not rectangular or square in shape. The flag was officially adopted on December 16,1962. The blue border in the flag symbolizes peace and harmony. The crimson red is Nepal’s national color, and it indicates the brave spirits of the Nepalese people. The two triangles symbolize the Himalayas. The depiction of celestial bodies represents permanence, the hope that Nepal will last as long as the sun and the moon.
You might not know this but Nepal’s is also the most mathematical national flag. In a video by Numberphile; Dr. James Grime, a London based mathematician, explains what makes the Nepalese flag so mathematical.
