Yay! Tihar is here!! Don’t we all just love this festival of lights? And one of the best things about this festival is Deusi/Bhailo programs, among many others. We get to sing, dance, eat delicious food, have lots of fun and also get money as Dakshina – isn’t that just great? And here we bring you some of the best ways to sing Deusi Re so that you don’t have to sing “Hey, chhaana maathi lauka” or “Hey, cycle ko ghanti” or “Hey, chhaana mathi aduwa” and other lines like these. So, here you go!
#1. The Traditional Way
This is probably the best way to sing Deusi Re, the traditional way. Note down the lines and get your lead singer to start practising them.
#2. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Way
A little fusion won’t do any bad, right? So if you have got a guitarist and a drummer in your group how about trying the Rock ‘n’ Roll way? Pretty cool it is.
#3. With Rap & Beat-Boxing
How about adding some more flavors to it? If you have a rapper and a beat boxer in the group, you got to try this one. Deusi Re song with a twist of rap and beat-boxing, sounds awesome.
#4. Fully Choreographed Performance
If you have a large group, this might be perfect for you. Along with the song, you can also learn some dance steps from here. It’s for a full half an hour show but you can just adopt some parts from it.
Deusi/Bhailo is definitely a great way to keep our culture alive but you should never take it as a way to just earn as much money as you can. It’s not good to get upset if you don’t receive a ‘Dakshina’ as you expected as whatever you receive has been offered with love and as the blessing. Please always keep in mind that it’s not the amount of money they give but the amount of blessings that matters the most. Enough of the lecture, eh? Have fun people. Happy Tihar!!
