Nepal Makes It To ICC Division 2

Nepalese cricket has reached a new height today. The team has successfully made it to ICC Division 2 after beating the host team Malaysia in their fifth match in the Division 3 cricket tournament today. The match was affected by the rain and Nepal was able to beat Malaysia by 36 runs after Duckworth Lewis method was applied. Defending champion Nepal will face Uganda in the final match.

Nepal won the toss and elected to bowl first. It was a good decision as they bowled out Malaysia for just 142 in 43.3 overs. Paras Khadka got 4 wickets in 9 overs for just 20 runs. Bhuvan Karki got 3 wickets, Shakti Gauchan got 2 and Sagar Pun got 1 wicket.

Nepal batted well and reached 89 in 25 overs with the loss of just two wickets when rain hit the match. But it was enough for Nepal as they won this match by 36 runs with D/L method. In Nepal’s win Naresh Budayair and Gyanendra Malla batted responsibly. They scored 42* and 35 respectively.

Nepal will be playing the ICC Division 2 tournament in Namibia in January next year.

Congratulations to team Nepal and all the Nepalese people.
