Within one month of the previous MMA event, another kickass event in Kathmandu has arrived already.

It’s a good year for MMA fans (and of course, the fighters) in Nepal as a new event is scheduled to take place this week. After Nepal Warriors Championship (NWC); that took place at Tapout Hall in Baluwatar, Kathmandu last month on Jun 16th; we had thought we gotta wait a year (or at least some months) to see another event but nope, the first edition of Omega Championship is happening right this week on Saturday, July 15th at Anmol Banquet at Sankhamul, Kathmandu.

The best thing — while NWC was an “invitees only” event, you can get tickets for this one. Yay!

On the other hand, NWC was live streamed on YouTube but you will need to wait for some time to see the videos of Omega Championship fights as they will not be streamed live but will come out later. The “Don Director” of Himalaya Roadies fame, Aman Pratap Adhikary, is in charge of these videos so I am sure, they are gonna come out very well. The event will be hosted by Jai Pradhan.

There are gon’ be 10 fights — three pro and seven amateur — among 20 fighters from Nepal and India. The main event is a bout between Nepal’s Koshish Shrestha and India’s Vicky Gwade in light weight category. Other two pro fights are among the Indian fighters; Hansraj Samata vs Prakhar Shubhasung in bantam weight category, and Lav Singh vs Ankit Panchal in feather weight category.

In amateur fights; Able Thapa (Nep) will take on Atharva Deshmukh (Ind) in a feather weight category fight; and Ashutosh Mulmi (Nep) and Arun Lama (Nep) are up against each other under light weight category. Three fights under straw weight category are scheduled between Kabin Deshar “Wami” (Nep) vs Kerobin Tudu (Ind), Rajina Bista (Nep) vs Sangita Dhami (Nep) and Dikpal Karki (Nep) vs Dhruv Shirodkar (Ind). Two other fights are between Karna Bdr Magarati (Nep) vs Allen Thakali (Nep) under bantam weight category; and Jordan Tendhar Ghale (Nep) vs Samar Aryal (Nep) under catch weight category.
