One of the three top beauty pageants, Miss Earth, kicked off earlier last month in Vietnam where 85 delegates from around the world are competing to take home the coveted crown. One of them is Raina Majgaiya.

The 26-year-old commercial pilot was crowned Miss Nepal Earth in the Miss Nepal pageant earlier this year on May 27th.

The competition this year marks the 23rd edition of the pageant and it started with the arrivals of all the delegates in Ho Chi Minh City on November 28th. Over last two weeks, the participants have been engaged in various activities — including the Preliminary Competition that consisted of the Swimsuit & National Costume competitions that was held on Saturday, December 16th.

Raina donned a sacred fig tree (peepal) leaf inspired outfit for the National Costume competition to spread environmental awareness.

For the swimsuit competition, Raina wore an olive green colored two piece bikini.

Post the prelims, the final show rehearsals are scheduled on December 18th and 19th; followed by the finale event on the 22nd when the reigning Miss Earth, Mina Sue Choi of South Korea will crown her successor.

Nepal is yet to win a major beauty pageant and if Raina succeeds in bringing the Miss Earth crown home, she surely will be creating history.
