Sisan Baniya’s Mad Honey Hunting Videos Remind Us Why He is the Best at What He Does

If you think Nepali contents on the internet are cringe, you are following the wrong people online ’cause we definitely have some of the finest creators around, and this guy is one of the top lads.

The name’s Baniya, Sisan Baniya.

The YouTuber’s latest two-part series vlog takes us to Tanje in Lamjung where he captured the entire process of the harvest of the world popular “mad honey”. Now, this stuff has been documented by multiple world renowned outlets like Vice, Yes Theory and Best Ever Food Review Show — who even fed that honey to the topmost podcaster, Joe Rogan. They are all huge groups with big money and the best equipment; and our homeboy creating content as good as theirs (if not better) is a huge achievement. I mean, look at homie’s dedication. He was right there with the honey hunter, doing his thing. So. Much. Respect.

About ‘Mad Honey’, it’s the kind that can get you stoned, for real. Yep, it’s dope like that, literally!

When the bees pollinate rhododendron flowers, mad honey is produced. It’s a toxin called ‘grayanotoxins’ found in these flowers that when pollinated by bees, cause a very rare poisonous reactions called honey intoxication or rhododendron poisoning. Apparently, if a little amount of this honey is consumed everyday, it does good for your health. But if a larger amount is consumed, it will make you sick.

Back to our boy’s videos, so why he gotta risk his life like that, couldn’t he just film it with a drone? “Well, there’s a major difference in a drone’s quality and an SLR’s quality”, he answered. “This was filmed in November last year, the season when this hunt is mostly done. It’s rainy and the wildflowers grow, that’s what causes the high.”

Got it, captain.

Here, y’all watch the series right here.

This is the first part where they travel to Tanje.

And this would be the second part, full of action.
