Saman Shrestha, Animesh Shahi To Host Himalaya Roadies S2, Audition Dates Announced

Even before the season finale episode of Himalaya Roadies Season 1 got aired on television, director Aman Pratap Adhikary had confirmed that the show will have its second season soon in an interview with NeoStuffs. And well, here it is, the popular reality television show is back with a second season.

The official franchise of India’s MTV Roadies had landed in Nepal last year, with the auditions conducted in five cities in March. A total of seventeen selected Roadies had started the journey that took them to various corners of the country – performing tasks and competing with each other. Saman Shrestha, a professional rock climber from Dharan, had emerged as the winner of the first season; while Animesh Shahi was the first runner-up.

From L to R: Animesh Shahi, Aman Pratap Adhikary, Saman Shrestha on the set of season 1 finale episode.

The audition dates and venues for the second season have now been announced. The auditions this year will kick off from Itahari on April 20nd, followed by Narayangadh on the 23rd. On the 25th and 28th, the auditions will be held in Butwal and Pokhara respectively; followed by Kathmandu on May 1st.

There will be some changes this year — to start with — Saman and Animesh will be hosting the second season. It was singer-songwriter Nattu who had hosted the show last year. Also, the tagline this year has been changed from “Rising Through Hell” to “Wild Wild West”, and we can easily speculate that the journey this year will explore the West of Nepal. And the Roadies will be seen riding Yamaha FZ 25 motorbikes instead of Bajaj Avenger bikes.
