Saptahik Picks The 10 Most Attractive Women of the Year


Saptahik has named Former Crown Princess Himani Shah the most attractive woman of the year (2074 BS).

The weekly, that has been publishing the list of the most attractive men and women every year during the Valentines’ week since last nine years, published this year’s list on its latest issue. (See the list of Most Attractive Men HERE.)

Himani Shah, who has always been part of the list, has topped for the very first time; to be named the Most Attractive Woman of the Year. Actress Samragyee RL Shah has bagged the second spot on the list, followed by Priyanka Karki.

Himani Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah, the former Crown Princess and the founder of Himani Trust, has bagged the first spot on the list for the very first time. She was on the second spot on last edition’s list.

Samragyee Rajya Laxmi Shah, who was on the eighth spot last year, has jumped to the second place on the list this year. The model turned actress who had made her silver screen debut opposite Anmol KC in 2016 with ‘Dreams’, is currently one of the most popular actresses in the industry. She is also among the highest paid actresses, reportedly.

3. Priyanka Karki

Priyanka Karki was named the Most Attractive Woman of the year last year, but she is on the third spot this year. Arguably the busiest Nepali actress at the moment, the ‘Chhakka Panja’ star isn’t only busy shooting films, but has also been working on music videos, touring across the world to perform at various events, choreographing, and what not.

4. Keki Adhikari

Another popular and talented actress, Keki Adhikari, has been placed on fourth spot on the list. Before she started working in films – with her 2009 debut in ‘Swor’ – she already was a popular model, who was part of dozens of music videos. The 28-year-old actress is turning producer with upcoming film ‘Kohalpur Express’ this year.

5. Aditi Budhathoki

Debuting on the list is Aditi Budhathoki – the newest sweetheart of Nepali cinema. The 25-year-old model, who has been splitting her time between Kathmandu and Mumbai, has been featured in a number of Hindi music videos. With ‘Kri’, starring Anmol KC in the lead role, she made her silver screen debut this year.

6. Indira Joshi

The only singer to be featured on the list in Indira Joshi. The ‘Udhreko Choli’ singer, also popularly known as Nepali Shakira, is mostly busy performing at various events in and outside Nepal. Also a successful playback singer, she was one of the three judges on the first season of singing reality television show Nepal Idol last year.

7. Deepika Prasain

Deepika Prasain, who made her film debut with ‘Aishwarya’ last year, has already become a popular name among Nepali cinema fans. The 22-year-old actress has bagged the seventh spot on the list.

8. Nikita Chandak

Until June last year, people hardly knew who Nikita Chandak was. And all of that changed on June 2nd, when the 21-year-0ld beauty queen was announced the 2017 Miss World Nepal. She made Nepal proud when she took part in the Miss World pageant in November and performed very well. She was able to place in top 40 in the prestigious beauty pageant. She is featured on the eighth position on the list.

9. Shristi Shrestha

Miss Nepal 2012 Shristi Shrestha has been placed on the ninth position on the list this year. Having debuted with ‘Gajalu’ in 2016, she will soon appear in her second film, ‘Romeo and Muna’ opposite Vinay Shrestha.

10. Ranju Darshana

Ranju Darshana, the only politician to be featured on the list, is also the youngest one to be on the list. The 21-year-old had took social media by storm when her party nominated her to run for the Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City in the local level elections last year. The only lady vying for mayoral post in local polls in 2017, her party had claimed her to be the youngest candidate in Nepal’s election history.

The list is based on the votes collected from a panel of selectors — consisting of Dipendra K. Khanal (film director), Diwakar Bhattarai (film director), Jitu Nepal (actor), Subin Bhattarai (author), Roshan Prasai, Anjil Maskey (photographer), Shan Thapa (publicity designer), Laxmi Thakur (hair designer), Binod Bhandari (cricketer), Pramod Agrahari (actor), Sahil Khan (video editor), Bharat Regmi (video editor), Hemant Rana (singer), Kedar Shrestha (theater artist), Dr. Ranjit Jha, Sushil Nepal (television presenter) and Tekendra Shah (video editor).
