Nepal’s Bets At International Male Pageants In 2017


Exciting times ahead for pageant enthusiasts.

The last quarter of the year 2017 is here, and it’s the most exciting and interesting quarter for the pageant enthusiasts as some of the major international pageants take place during this part of the year.

Along with the much anticipated Miss Universe debut by Nepal this year, a number of our delegates will be representing the nation at almost a dozen of different pageants in next three months.

Here, we shall take a look at the hunks who will be representing Nepal at some of the major male pageants this year.

Mister Grand International

Dikpal Karki is a model turned actor who had debuted with ‘Rang Baijani’ in 2015. A year later, he played the lead in a cricket-based film titled ‘Champion’. The 6 feet tall 28-year-old, who is also a veterinary doctor, is Mister Grand Nepal 2017; and hence, Nepal’s bet at Mister Grand International this year.

Quite a pageant icon; Karki had won Mr. Kathmandu in 2009. In 2012, he won the first runner-up position at Manhunt International Nepal. He represented Nepal at Mister Global 2016. He was the official choreographer of Mister World Nepal this year.

He is currently in Philippines where he is representing Nepal in Mister Grand International male pageant. He reached Manila last week where he has been taking part in various pre-events and activities for the pageant, ahead of its finale on October 6th.

Manhunt International

Samim Khan had bagged the title of Manhunt International Nepal in December last year. The 31 year old who stands 5’11” will be taking part in this year’s Manhunt International, scheduled from November 22nd to 27th in Thailand.

Khan, originally from Tanahu, is a model, entrepreneur and business lecturer. He is soon to make his silver screen debut as well.

Mister Ocean

Bibek Khadka, Mr Ocean Nepal 2017, will be taking part in Mister Ocean in November. The first ever edition of the pageant is set to take place in Taiwan this year from November 14th to 28th.

Aged 19 and standing 6’1″, Khadka is the youngest and tallest Nepali delegate this year. He had won the title of Model Hunt Nepal last year. He hails from New Baneshwor, Kathmandu and studies Civil and Rural Engineering at Nepal Engineering college.

Dhurba Budhathoki in Man of the Year and Dr. Ram Chand in Man of the World have represented Nepal so far at male pageants this year. While Budhathoki had won the sub-title of Man of the Year Masculine; Chand was able to bag Most Charitable sub-title. Another confirmed delegate from Nepal to be a part of an upcoming international male pageant is Akshay Jung Rayamajhi. He will be representing Nepal at Mister World 2018 next year in May or June in London.
