2017 has so far been pretty good for Nepal at international pageants. In May this year, Samikshya Shrestha was given the title of Miss Asia World 2016 in Lebanon, where she was to take part in 2017 edition of the pageant. But because of her pageant history — she had won the title of Miss Personality at Miss Nepal pageant in 2013, was selected to represent Nepal at Miss Multinational in the Philippines and serves as the CEO for Miss Intercontinental Universe — she was directly awarded the title by the organizers instead.
Then later in July, Surabhi Manandhar won the title of Miss Deaf Asia 2017 in France. In the same event – Mister and Miss Deaf International 2017 – Janak Raj Bhatta was able to reach the Top 5 during the pageant’s finale.
Nepal’s most recent participation in an international pageant was in Man of the Year 2017, held in Indonesia in August. Dhruba Budhathoki who represented Nepal was able to win the sub-title of Man of the Year Masculine.
So overall, Nepal has been doing good so far. But the major pageants are yet to be held and will be taking place in months to come. So who are representing Nepal this year at the most prestigious pageants? Let’s take a look.
Miss Grand International
The first major international pageant that will be taking place this year is Miss Grand International 2017 where Zeenus Lama will be representing Nepal. The coronation night of the pageant is scheduled on October 25th in Vietnam.
Lama had won the title of Miss Grand Nepal 2016 last year in Kathmandu but could not represent Nepal at the international pageant in Las Vegas. This year, the 25-year-old has been directly invited by the Miss Grand International organization to represent Nepal.
Then comes November, THE MONTH to look forward to as four big pageants will be taking place.
Here comes Rojina Shrestha into the scene. The 23-year-old model had won the title of Miss Nepal Earth 2017 during the finale of the Hidden Treasure Miss Nepal 2017 pageant in June this year. She will be representing Nepal at the Miss Earth 2017 pageant in November in the Philippines this year. The finale is scheduled on November 4th. Rojina stands 5’8″.
Niti Shah will be next to represent Nepal at the prestigious Miss International pageant. The reigning Miss International Kylie Verzosa of the Philippines will crown her successor at the event.

The winner of this year’s Miss Nepal pageant who had won herself the coveted title of Miss Nepal World 2017, Nikita Chandak, will be representing Nepal at Miss World 2017. The finale of the 67th edition of the pageant will be taking place on November 18th in China where the reigning Miss World Stephanie Del Valle will crown her successor.
20-year-old Chandak stands 5’6″.
