It’s Official, ’13 Reasons Why’ Is Returning With Its Second Season

Yes, you read that right; Netflix has renewed its ‘most talked’ about drama for season 2.

There’s no way you haven’t heard of ’13 Reasons Why’, but just in case you have been living under the rock lately, it’s a new Netflix series that is probably the most talked about show on the internet right now. The 13-episode season of the show that premiered on March 31st this year is based on Jay Asher’s 2007 novel of the same name.

The series revolves around Clay Jensen, a high school student, and Hannah Baker, another student, who committed suicide. But before ending her life, Hannah records cassette tapes that have all the details of the demoralizing circumstances that led her to take the decision. And only the people who were somehow involved in her death get to listen to the tapes. Each episode is a roller-coaster of emotion as the viewer pieces together what exactly happened to Hannah and how are the other people connected to her death.

There were a lot of speculations that the ‘controversial’ series might return with a second season; and Netflix confirmed the same right at the beginning of Mental Health Awareness Week (8-14 May). A short teaser has been released.

Season 2 will consist of another 13 episodes which will premiere on Netflix in 2018.

13 Reasons Why is directed by Oscar winner Tom McCarthy, written by Brian Yorkey, and executive produced by Selena Gomez among others. The series stars Katherine Langford, Dylan Minnette, Mark Pellegrino and Kate Walsh in the lead roles.

Yay or Nah?
