Nepathya To Kick Off Silver Jubilee Year With A Hometown Gig


Arguably the most popular folk-rock Nepali band, Nepathya, is all set to celebrate its silver jubilee year with a lot exciting activities lined up for one entire year. The band that was formed by Deepak Rana, who is now a Chopper pilot; Bhim Poon, who is now settled in Hong Kong; and Amrit Gurung, the frontman; in Pokhara stepped into its 25th year on April 1st this year. As part of the celebration, the band plans to release not only new songs and their music videos but some of their old hits as well. A biography of the band too is on its way and is expected to release next year. With the theme ‘Celebrating 25 years of Nepathya’, the band will also be touring to several places in and outside Nepal — and the silver jubilee year will kick off with a concert in the band’s hometown.

The event titled ‘Nepathya – Live In Pokhara’ is organized by Kiran Kumar Gurung and Sonam Gurung. A part of the proceeds raised from the event will be used in rebuilding of two schools – Gauri Shankhar Higher Secondary School in Lwang Ghalel and Bhumeshwor Primary School in Salyan. The tickets for the event scheduled to take place at Pokhara Stadium on Saturday, April 8th are priced at Rs. 1000, Rs. 3000 and Rs. 5000 for the standard, VIP and VVIP tickets respectively.

Various colleges in Pokhara valley have been visited in last few days by the marketing and promotions team led by Vimla Thapa for the promotional campaigns where the students could get the tickets for Rs. 750. “The responses of the college students have been immensely positive towards this charity event and it feels good to see them so excited not only about music but social causes as well”, Vimla told NeoStuffs.

Well, nothing feels better than listening to your favorite band play live while knowing that the money you spent on the tickets will be used for a great cause. So, mark you calendars – April 8th.
