What would be your first reaction if someday you wake up to find out that your entire bank balance has just disappeared? Of course, you would freak out. It would be worse than the worst nightmare ever, unless you’re as broke as me. But anyways, the point is, you would definitely not want your money to be stolen. And for that very reason, Nepal police want you to immediately change all your ATM passwords.
Nepal police’s Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) have arrested three Romanian nationals who had been stealing ATM passwords and then money from other people’s bank accounts from the ATMs of various places in Kathmandu including Durbarmarg, Thamel and Basantpur. The three had come to Nepal a month ago with their tourist visas. According to CBI’s data, there are approximately 3.5 million ATM users in Nepal and most of their passwords might have been stolen.
