Amrita Acharia Plays The Lead In New British TV Series ‘The Good Karma Hospital’

Amrita Acharia is all set to play the lead in her new British TV series for ITV. The series titled ‘The Good Karma Hospital’ is a six part medical drama that is currently being filmed in Goa, India. The series produced by Tiger Aspect Drama also stars Amanda Redman, Neil Morrissey, Phyllis Logan, James Floyd, Darhsan Jariwalla and Sagar Radia in the lead roles.

Amrita whose most popular work is the role of Irri, a Dothraki woman, in TV series ‘Game of Thrones’; is a half Nepali actress who was born in Kathmandu. When she was 13, her family had moved to Norway where her father Dr. Ganesh Acharya is a professor at University of Tromsø. Currently based in the UK, she has also done a number of Norwegian films, the most popular ones being ‘I am Yours’ and ‘Dead Snow 2’.

Acharia who will be seen playing the character of Ruby Walker in The Good Karma Hospital, said, “It’s great to be cast in a Brit-Asian lead role in what’s an atypical coming-of-age story in many ways. The role of Ruby will be exciting to explore as she uproots the only home she knows, to be thrown into the deep end of a place with a different perspective on universal dilemmas of life, love, success and failure, and ultimately confronts herself with the past she was escaping from.”

Well, we are definitely excited for this one and we can’t wait to watch it when it hits the TV screens.
