Priyanka Karki is currently one of the strongest leading ladies of Nepali cinema and apart from the silver screen, she also rules all the major social media platforms with around 1.4 million likes on her Facebook page, around 46k followers on Twitter and 246k followers on her Instagram handle. Despite of having such a huge number of followers, she keeps a good record of all of them and does recognize a quite a number of them – especially the ones who are good to her; and of course, the ones who are not very good to her.
Earlier this year in February, she reached 100k followers on Instagram and as a return gift and to show how thankful she is; she picked seven girls and followed them back. She called them her ‘Angels’.
After four months in June, another 100k Instagrammers started following her, making the number of her followers to a whopping 200k. And again, she did the same. This time, she picked nine more girls, and so the count of her ‘Angels’ reached 16.
Karki recently thought about meeting her ‘Angels’ for the very first time and spend some quality time together. So she booked the hall at Embassy Restaurant in Kathmandu and invited the nine girls, as other seven live abroad, on Saturday.
The ‘Woda No. 6’ actress wanted to give these girls a day to remember but she had hardly expected that it would actually be a day she herself will cherish forever. Her ‘angels’ showered her with so much love that she literally had tears of happiness in her eyes.
The girls surprised her with a custom-made cake that had the picture of her Instagram handle printed on it. She was also gifted photo frames with various of her pictures in them.
Well, even Priyanka had some presents for her die-hard fans. She gifted each of them a handwritten greeting card, a dream catcher to encourage them to go for their dreams and a little Ganesha to always give them beautiful beginnings to any path they choose in life.
When asked why did she meet her fans, “I wanted to meet them because it’s these beautiful people who make us, love us and support us unconditionally without asking for anything in return. So, it was just a way of saying thank you”, Karki told NeoStuffs. “I knew they were crazy fans and even though I had never met them before, I knew they loved me like crazy as if anyone wrote anything bad about me on Instagram, they would fight, like really fight for me. It was a beautiful day and I loved every single moment of the three hours I spent with them.”
We looked for the girls on Instagram and talked to some of them and asked about how they felt after meeting the person they adore. And well, it would take all day if we write about their excitement and happiness after meeting the actress as they couldn’t stop appreciating her. Anjali Regmi, a 15-year-old 11th grader, said, “She is so gorgeous and I can’t believe how friendly and down to earth she is even after being such a huge star.” 18-year-old Meesa Kafle too had nothing but appreciation for the ‘Jholay’ actress; and so did Sangya Pant, Niruta Gautam, Pranjali Dahal and Priyambada Khadka who couldn’t stop talking about how comfortable she made them feel like and talked about so many things.
That’s such a sweet gesture from not only Priyanka Karki who took some time from her extremely busy schedule to meet her fans; but also from her ‘Angels’ who made her feel like she chose the right path in her life.
