The nominations for 2016 edition of CNN Heroes are now open and here we have a chance again to let the world know how amazing people are there in Nepal who have been working tirelessly and selflessly for the betterment of the society. It can be anyone who you have found to be working for the welfare of others. Any person who has been doing great work for the relief works after the devastating earthquake can be an ideal person to be nominated this year. It’s not only about the international recognition and the prestigious award, and if the person is chosen among the ten CNN Heroes, each one of them receive an award money of $10,000 to help them continue the work they have been doing. Among those ten, the one who becomes the CNN Hero of The Year additionally receives an amount of $1,00,000.

As you can see, you need to fill up the information of your nominee in section 1. Moving on to section 2, this one is the most important part. Before filling up the form, gather all the information about your nominee and do not forget to write any of their important achievements. Apart from their achievements, your words about the person are equally important. Be clear and write some strong points about why do you think that the person should be a CNN Hero. Do share the links of the articles and news pieces you can find about the person. Lastly, you will need to fill up your own information in the third section.
These are the points you should keep in mind.
- Your nominee should be at least 13 years of age or older.
- Some portion of nominee’s activities must have taken place on November 1, 2015 or be ongoing.
- Nominations must be received no later than 11:59:59 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time on September 5, 2016.
- You can only nominate an individual, not a group or an organization.
- You cannot nominate yourself. So if you think you deserve to be a CNN Hero, have someone nominate you.
- A CNN Review Panel will select ten potential finalists who would be all called CNN Heroes.
- The final round of judging will be done by an online viewer vote conducted on www.cnnheroes.com. And the winner will be announced as the CNN Hero of The Year in a gala event called CNN Heroes: An All Star Tribute.
