Ever Wondered Where Did Biraj Bhatta Disappear? Well, He’s Been Busy Ruling Bhojpuri Cinema

Flashback to year 2009, action star Biraj Bhatta was on peak of his acting career in the Nepalese film industry when he was offered his first Bhojpuri film titled ‘Laagal Rahe Raaja Ji’. The film shot in Bihar was a commercial hit and Biraj’s work was well appreciated by the audience. After the success of his debut film, he started getting a number of offers and when he realized that it’s not possible to work in the two industries at the same time, he moved to Mumbai to focus on his career in Bhojpuri cinema and the rest is history.

In a period of six years, Biraj has worked in over 50 Bhojpuri films so far. The 32-year old actor who is best known for his most successful movies such as ‘Himmatwala’, ‘Inthqam’, ‘Jaan Tere Naam’, ‘Marad Taangewala’, ‘Laagi Ba Lagan’ has a number of promising upcoming movies releasing this year as well. In a short period of time, he has been able to establish himself as one of the most successful actors in Bhojpuri cinema who is equally popular as the superstars Ravi Kishan and Manoj Tiwari.

While he was busy making a name in Bhojpuri cinema, he did have some Nepali movies released as well. His last released Nepali film was ‘Damini’ in 2013. However, the Nepali dubbed versions of his Bhojpuri films have also been releasing in Nepal once in a while. In a recent interview with Kantipur, he did express his wish to make a comeback to Nepali cinema as well. When asked why we haven’t seen him in a Hindi film even after living and working in Mumbai as an actor, he told that it’s because he never wished to or else he would have worked in several movies so far. But now as he has gained quite a lot of experience in Bhojpuri cinema and is loved by hundreds of thousands of people, he would probably work in a Hindi film as well.

Many established and promising actors leave the Nepali film industry to settle down abroad every year for several reasons but it’s good to see that Biraj Bhatta has been working in the same industry even if it’s not in Nepal. We are definitely very happy to see his progress and we wish to see him rule the Hindi film industry someday as well. Not to forget, we’ll be waiting for him to make a powerful comeback to Nepali cinema too. Go Biraj Go!!

And yes, before we leave, here’s one of his most successful films ‘Marad Taangewala’, if you wish to watch.
