Public reacts angrily on social media to Government’s decision over Deusi-Bhailo’s Time Constraint


The Government has requested the people to conclude their Deusi-Bhailo programs during Tihar by 7 PM in order to prevent criminal activities, which has led to a public furore in social media. The government has also urged people not to use fire crackers and violation of this may lead to legal actions. People have reacted angrily over this decision and have come up with several harsh comments in Facebook and Twitter.

Furthermore, in another statement, Nepal Electricity Authority has also issued a notice in which they have requested people to refrain from using high electricity consumable items such as Refrigerator, Rice Cooker, AC, fancy lights, etc. from 5 PM to 10 PM during the festival citing reasons of low production of electricity because of Sindhupalchowk disaster. This is also almost certain to provoke people further.

LATEST UPDATE: Due to criticisms from the public, the government has extended the deadline for Deusi-Bhailo time to 9 PM from 7 PM.
