Danny MacAskill’s Epic Ride Through a Scottish Ridge

Pro stunt biker and compulsive thrill-seeker Danny MacAskill released a new video on Thursday, Oct 2, showing him perform crazy stunts on a bike along treacherously narrow cliffside paths and on rocky outcrops of the Cuillin Ridgeline in the Isle of Skye, Scotland.

In the short film titled “The Ridge,” the daredevil rider takes on a novel challenge against the backdrop of awesome scenery depicting nature’s wild beauty.

Setting aside his familiar trial bikes, he demonstrates the versatility of his incredible skills on a full suspension mountain bike, taking us to the rugged terrain of the Cuillin Ridgeline, with its 992-meter drop in his native Isle of Skye, Scotland.

“It was a serious effort to just get to the filming locations,” says Stu Thomson, who directed the film. “The Cuillin Ridge is seven miles long, and to get to the easiest summit is at least two hours of hiking up, and then two hours back. We had to carry food, water and all our camera gear, including the drone and eight batteries for it, in and out each day. The longest day on the mountain was 8 a.m. until 1 a.m., and included a total of seven hours of hiking for five shots in the film.”
