The winners of Global IME Nepal Photo Competition 2071 organized by Photo Journalist Club, Nepal were announced on Wendesday, July 23. This is the fourth time that the competition has taken place. Winners, runner ups and second runner ups were announced in different categories of the photographs. A total of 6549 photographs were competing with each other.

 

The best photo of the year was won by the photograph of Rihana Sheikh, a 19 year old girl from Banke, who was burnt by her husband and mother-in-law for not being able to bring a buffalo and a motor-cycle in dowry. She was seven months pregnant when she was burnt. The photograph was captured by Bijay Gajmer.
