12 Years, a ‘Movie’

Which was the most recent movie you watched? How was the transition between a person’s age was shown? Must be just like every other movie, different actors of different age played the character. Like, a 6 year old character was played by a child; then when he was 12 years old, an older child played the character and in the same way an older guy did the role when the character was 18. That’s how a film shows a character’s journey from birth to even death by just shooting for a couple of months. But how would a movie look like if the same actors play the characters for all these years? Sounds interesting but not possible, right? Well, the impossible looking film is actually releasing this month on 11th. The film named ‘Boyhood’ written and directed by Richard Linklater is a story of Mason (Ellar Coltrane), son of a divorced couple, Mason Sr. (Ethan Hawke) and Olivia (Patricia Arquette). The film shows the journey of Mason from first grade at age 6 through twelfth grade at age 18.

The film was premiered in 2014 Sundance Film Festival and later Richard Linklater won Silver Bear for Best Director at 64th Berlin International Film Festival. The film has received very good reviews from all the critics and has been also tagged as ‘extraordinary’,’epic’,’most realistic’ and ‘once in a lifetime movie’ by some of them.

Here’s the official trailer of the movie. Who’s excited? Comment Below.
