Teriya wins DID Li’l Masters Season 3

Pune, June 21.

Among a huge crowd, the grand finale of the popular Indian TV reality show DID Li’l Masters Season 3 was held here on Saturday. Teriya Fauja Magar, 11, from Rudrapur, Nepal defeated other three contestants Anushka Chhetri, Hardik Ruparel and Shadwin Shetty and lifted the cup. Along with the DID Cup, she also won a cash prize of INR 10 Lakh.

Actor Varun Dhawan was also present at the event and performed on his popular songs from Main Tera Hero and Student of the Year. He along with Grandmaster Mithun Chakraborty and judges Geeta Kapoor and Ahmed Khan presented the trophy to Teriya.

After winning the title, Teriya said in a statement, “I am extremely happy to win this trophy today. It is like a dream come true for me to perform on the stage of  DID Li’l Masters and emerge as a winner of Season 3. Masters and audiences have been really supportive and have appreciated my performances.”

On their winning the trophy of Season 3, Skipper Omkar Shinde said: “We gave our best to each performance on the coveted stage of ‘DID’. My aim was to focus on Teriya’s overall grooming to make her a well-rounded, versatile dancer rather than excelling in only one form which is considered her forte.”

Many campaigns were run in Nepal to appeal to vote for Teriya. Some internet cafes even gave free internet access to anyone who wants to vote for her online. Many such campaigns were even run on social networking sites. This is not the first time Nepali people were so excited and supported a Nepali contestant in an Indian TV reality show. Same level of energy, excitement and support could be seen for Prashant Tamang, a policeman from Darjeeling, in 2007. He was able to win the title of Indian Idol.

Teriya studies in Grade 5 in Peace Land School  and her mother runs a canteen in the school. Her father works in Dubai. This victory of Teriya is almost as rejoicing as Nepal winning the world cup for the Nepalese people.
