Black Narcissus: BBC One Show, Filmed in Nepal, to Premiere in November

Quite a number of BBC one shows have been filmed in Nepal in recent years including ‘Our Girl’, ‘Nadiya’s Asian Odyssey’, and ‘Top Gear’. You’ll see some part of the beautiful Himalayan nation in the network’s new show next month.

Black Narcissus is an upcoming three-part series prodcued by DNA TV in association with FX Productions for BBC One. Directed by Charlotte Bruus Chirstensen, the film stars ‘Quantum of Solace’ actress Gemma Arterton in the leading role along with Alessandro Nivola, Aisling Franciosi, Jim Broadbent and Roshie Cavaliero. The mini-series will also see one of the final performances by Game of Thrones star Diana Rigg.

The series is an adaption of Rumer Godden’s 1939 novel of the same name that was later adapted to become the classic 1947 feature film starring Deborah Kerr. Parts of the new show were filmed in Nepal during the last months of 2019.

‘Black Narcissus’ is scheduled to premiere on November 23 on FX; followed by the three episodes streaming on FX on Hulu the next day. The show will then be aired on BBC One in December.
