Nepal’s Manita Devkota Places in Top 10 of Miss Universe 2018

She has done it!

Manita Devkota has just created history for Nepal as she been announced as one of the top 10 finalists of Miss Universe 2018. The final show is currently taking place at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

The other nine finalists are South Africa, Vietnam, Venezuela, Philippines, Costa Rica, Curacao, Canada, Thailand, and Puerto Rico.

Although this is Nepal’s second time only participating in the pageant after Nagma Shrestha debuted last year, it’s for the first time that a Nepali bet has secured her place in the top 10 in the competition.

23-year-old Manita has a degree in Public Health and she aspires to become an attorney to be able to help women deal with health-related issues and aid them with their rights. She is an Ambassador of Women’s Health at Days for Girls International.

UPDATE: Manita’s journey in the competition ended in the Top 10 as
Puerto Rico, Vietnam, Philippines, South Africa and Venezuela made it to the Top 5. Venezuela, South Africa and the Philippines were announced the Top 3 with Catriona Gray of the Philippines winning the title of Miss Universe 2018.
