Underside to Play Download Fest Alongside Def Leppard, Slipknot, Tool, Lamb of God, Slayer

The band formed in 2010 in Kathmandu has been doing their best to put Nepali metal in the global map. In last couple of years, the band has toured across Europe and Australia, playing alongside some renowned international metal bands. But what they will be doing in the summer of 2019 will create history, not only for the band but for Nepal as well.

Underside has been roped in to play the Download Festival in the UK next year. The other bands that, too, are part of one of the biggest heavy metal concerts are – wait for it – Def Leppard, Slipknot, Tool and Lamb of God. American thrash metal band, Slayer, will play their final UK show at next year’s edition of the festival.

The Smashing Pumpkins, Dream Theater, Eagles of Death Metal, Anthrax, Blackberry Smoke, I Prevail, The Interrupters, Royal Republic, State Champs, Whitechapel, Zebrahead are some of the other acts that will join the three-day event.

“It’s a big step to get this far on that bill with those bands”, said a thrilled Avishek KC, the vocalist of Underside. “To be honest, it’s just the beginning. Bigger things are coming.”
