Watch: ESPN’s Documentary ‘A Mountain to Climb’ About Pratima Sherpa

On Sunday, April 22nd, ESPN premiered the SC Featured documentary titled ‘A Mountain to Climb’ – the story of Pratima Sherpa, an amateur Nepali teen golfer who dreams to be the nation’s first female golf pro.

Pratima’s parents; father Pasang Sherpa and mother Kalpana Tsering, had met in 1995 as both of them had been working as laborers at Royal Nepal Golf Club in Kathmandu. A year after meeting, they got married; and in 1999, they had their only child – who they named Pratima.

Ever since Pratima was a child, the family has been living in a shed in the golf course that is used as a storeroom to keep the golf equipment. And hence, the golf course became Pratima’s playground and at a tender age, she developed a keen interest in playing golf as she watched others play. But the journey ahead was not a cakewalk.
