Kri’s Controversial Song Replaced By A New Version On YouTube

‘Ukalima Pachhi Pachhi’ is now ‘Dhuk Dhuki’.

The controversial soundtrack from ‘Kri’ has been removed from YouTube, and another version of the song has been released.

‘Ukalima Pachhi Pachhi’ was inspired from the song of the same title from 1983 film ‘Samjhana’ starring Bhuwan KC and Tripti Nadkar. It was released on YouTube on February 16th and had garnered over four million views on the video sharing platform. But the song soon found itself in a controversy as the producer-director of ‘Samjhana’, Sambhu Pradhan, filed a case against ‘Kri’ producer Subas Giri for lifting the music from his film. It cost Giri Rs. 11 lakh to resolve the case, along with the agreement to remove the song from YouTube.

It an interview, Giri had said that Bhuwan KC – who, too is one of the producers of Kri – had assured him that he will talk to Pradhan and take care of the rights; it turned out, he didn’t.

A controversy, Rs. 11 lakh compensation, and a lot of drama later; a new version of the song has now been uploaded on YouTube. It’s now called ‘Dhuk Dhuki’ and some significant changes have been made as they have gotten rid of the music and lyrics that had anything to do with the original song. Written by Almoda Rana Uprety and Ektaare, the song is sung by Almoda himself and it has been mixed and mastered by Pradeep Joshi.

Some changes in the video, too, can be seen and it’s now more like a lyrical video. Watch it here.

Produced under the banners of Subas Entertainment Production & Super Kajal Films; the film starring Anmol KC, Aditi Budhathoki, Anoop Bikram Shahi, Kameshwor Chaurasiya and Saroj Khanal had released in cinemas on February 9th.
