This Poem About A Mother’s Love Will Hit You Right In The Feels

Remember that time when you were upset for some reason and you just rested your head on her laps and everything seemed beautiful again? Or the time when you were so sick you couldn’t even move but you felt relieved when she kissed on your forehead. Or the time when you had no idea what you need to do about something and she just said everything will be alright, and everything actually looked alright. And all the times whenever you needed someone, and she was always there right beside you — your “Aama” (mother).

They say, “God could not be everywhere, so He created mothers,” and if that’s true, I must applaud Him for he created someone who is even above Himself.

At a recent poem recitation event held at Mandala Theatre, poet Nawaraj Parajuli recited his poem titled ‘Hebbi Badde’ (Happy Birthday). The poem that has a mother remembering the past moments spent with her son and wishing him a happy birthday is so moving that at times, it gives you goosebumps. It might even have you in tears.

Before you listen to the poem, we just have one thing to say to you, do not ever take your mother (and even father) for granted ‘cos one day when they’re gone, you would regret it. Love them, respect them and get them things they always wished to have. You have your whole life in front of you to fulfill your own desires but they don’t.

Now, here’s the poem.

Feel like going to your mother and giving her a tight hug or calling her if you’re away from her? Please, go ahead!
