The year was 2011 when a 20-year-old girl from Kathmandu became the first Nepali model to be signed by a major international agency in New York. After signing a 3-year contract with Wilhelmina Model Agency, she went to the United States in 2011 and the rest is history. She is now not only a well-known model in the States but also a philanthropist who has been raising donations to support the 2015 earthquake victims. And the name is Varsha Thapa.
Varsha who made her successful debut at New York Fashion Week in 2011 has so far walked and shot for some of the most reputed designers, fashion lines and magazines such as Misonni, Bcbg Max Azria, Prabal Gurung, Vivienne Westwood, Uniqlo, Steve Madden, Norma Kamali, Satya Jewelry and Baublebar among various others. Currently based in New York and signed with Major Model Management, she aims to become a Victoria’s Secret model someday.
Varsha Thapa is the biggest Nepalese name in the international modelling scene and we wish to see her grow and make us prouder in future. Here’s a compilation of her runway walks from New York Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week.
